About Me

I attended Valparaiso University where I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters degree in special education through Northern Illinois University, and recently received an endorsement in teaching multilingual students through National Louis University. I have taught second grade in Shabbona, Illinois, a small town near DeKalb. I have also taught second grade at Laura B. Sprague school in Lincolnshire, and most recently at Windsor Elementary in SD25. I live in Mount Prospect with my husband and two daughters. My daughters both attend John Hersey High School.

Philosophy of Education

All children can learn, and as a teacher, my goal is to determine how every child learns best and to facilitate that learning. To that end, it is also my job to keep up with the latest educational research and to use the best educational practices when I teach. I do not teach in isolation; but rather use the resources around me, which include my teaching team, school specialists, administration, and my students' parents. Together we can help every child succeed in the classroom.
